We just had dinner with my friend and his lively wife. Now, a day later, my legs are back to normal. I can't possible understand completely, but I do relate to statements about these birds. If I lived out here, I think I would be a convert.

BD (Aaron) mentioned on uplandidaho.com early this week that he directed someone to some quail. I have been following your Idaho adventure to see how your Chukar hunting went and thought it might have been you. Once you mentioned Remy I was sure of the it. Fantastic!!! Small world isn't it. Way to go on your first Chukar. Glad you got a taste of and for our mountain devil bird. A bit different than quail hunting ehhhh? Hope you have good luck for the rest of the trip and you make it back to Idaho next year.

That's a very good report, with some great pics. Be careful though, those old red legged devils are addicting. I hunt 'em out here in the Mojave desert in Southern Cal. Not to many rivers to cross and hardly any snow, but I do carry rope and pitons to get me through. Try putting that in your vest.
